* Just dropping you a line to congratulate you on providing such a excellent accommodation at La Roumade. The location was superb, with vineyards on one side, and a Cognac house across the road. The house was superbly equipped and very comfortable; the pool always warm and inviting. We all felt very relaxed very quickly.

* Just to say we had a super time at La Roumade. Your holiday home is great, we loved staying there and it's probably the best equipped holiday home we've stayed at yet! We made great use of all the fruit in the garden: we had every sort of apple pudding imaginable plus raspberries and figs for breakfast.

* We had a fantastic holiday in La Roumade, we fell in love with the house and surroundings last year, returning this year gave us the same wow factor as we experienced the first time but with the addition of the fantastic new bathrooms. The on suite off the master bedroom gave more flexibility with 3 families; the additional bathroom upstairs was ideally situated for both first floor bedrooms. Having all towels and bed linen provided and made up on arrival is a welcome advantage after a long drive. The furnishings throughout the house are very comfortable and cater for large groups. We cannot say anything negative about such a wonderful place to spend a holiday. There was no hesitation in where we would like to spend our holiday next year, and are equally existed about visiting in 2010. In the 12 years we have been going to France we have never stayed in such a lovely house in a perfect tranquil setting. The key holders were excellent and very helpful beyond expectations and were only too happy to help make our stay enjoyable. Many thanks for allowing us to stay in such a wonderful House, can’t wait till next year.

* We fell in love with the house and the views last year but, after the improvements, it's even better. The children had their own privacy upstairs. La Roumade is a paradise and we will certainly come back. We used the pool area a lot and enjoyed every minute. The kitchen is also perfect for cooking, there is enough space for several persons and it's very well equipped. The surrounding of the house is lovely, we use the phrase "sjalen vilar" in Swedish - something like "the soul is resting" in English.

* Your house and the surrounding area provided a lovely setting for our holiday - the pool was enjoyed by all! We very much liked the feeling of being in a home not just a rental property. We were all so impressed with the comfort of the beds, decor, how well equipped the house is, your welcome pack and so on. The canopy over the outside table was wonderful (we had ALL our meals out there). All the pool equipment was great - my granddaughters loved the inflatables. Throughout, we were impressed by your attention to detail and by all the little touches that contributed to making our stay so enjoyable.

* We think the improvements to the house look really nice. We feel that you've created even more of a vacation home - suitable for two or more families sharing. We sat outside every morning at the side of the picket fence and that's where you're able to truly admire the views. It's a great place to drink coffee and just relax!

* We loved it here! La Roumade is a perfect holiday retreat. Not only a beautifully maintained pool, gardens and terrrace(we ate every meal outside) and house, but - unusually in our experience - wonderful beds and a large well equipped kitchen. Walk to Boulangerie/shop and bar and use the car for lots of exploring in this lovely region. We lounged by the pool and went to restaurants and Cognac tastings. There is water skiing and windsurfing /sailing nearby. Beach an hour - but Ille d'Oleron beaches only 90 mins. We'll come again and have recommended it to our friends!

* We were really impressed with the cleanliness of the house and the amount of kitchen utensils/equipment etc. The beds were comfortable and the outside area worked really well. It was where we spent most of our time as the weather was great. It was lovely to have the crisps and biscuits, wine and beer on arrival. Very much appreciated as we had nothing and arrived late so everywhere was shut. It was also a lovely touch as in a welcoming gesture. * We loved our stay in La Roumade, It was wonderful because both children and adults enjoyed it equally. We hope that we will have the opportunity to visit the house again. The surrounding garden and the views over the vine-yards were beautiful and so peaceful. We appreciated the well equipped and functional kitchen.Especially our children, but also the adults, enjoyed the swimming pool a lot as the weather was sunny and beautiful every day. The small villages nearby were also lovely and we liked Cognac a lot. We also appreciated the "starter" provisions, including the wine.

* Our week in La Roumade was a real treat as the weather allowed us to enjoy the large pool and surrounding gardens in the sunshine. A great base to explore the local area, but we found it hard to do much more than shop for our food and wine in a variety of markets. Lounging by the pool, great play space for the kids and dinner "al fresco" every night in a beautiful, well-equipped house. We recommend it all!

* Enjoyed our stay in this house very much. Will definitely come back! House is very private and provides tranquility throughout. Even though it is rather large, we enjoyed the house immensely. The kitchen is beautiful and fully equipped. Excellent beds, which is not always the case in France! The house is truly wonderful!
